Art Exhibition at Weavers Gallery in Ledbury

30 November -1

The exhibition at Weavers Gallery opens on Monday 2nd May and continues to Saturday 14th May. It is open from 10am to 4pm each day.

Local artist Gilly Hancock will be exhibiting some of her work together with Eric Bottomley, who is best known for his recreation of railway scenes from the age of steam.

Eric and Gilly have been friends for over 20 years and the exhibition at the Weavers Gallery on Church Lane in Ledbury brings their work together in one place.

Most of Eric’s painting life has been involved in recreating nostalgic scenes of a transport nature, but his portfolio of work is broader and includes landscape and still life subjects. The preferred medium for Eric has always been oils but he is equally at home with gouache (watercolour) and pencil work. This exhibition will encompass all mediums and subjects.

Many of Gilly’s gentle oil paintings reflect her sense of belonging to the Malvern Hills and capture their majesty and moods through the changing seasons.  Gilly’s work also includes subjects as diverse as scenes from Greece and Welsh canals. Her paintings always display an emotional attachment to the subject.
