Rehearsal fortnightly at: Amaka unit on the Spring Lane Industrial Estate in Malvern
Centenary Choir aim to perform at public events a few times a year, wearing costume from the period. We are currently rehearsing songs from the years following the First World War (July 2019).
We have recently been awarded grant funding and hope to use this to stage a spectacular 'Dazzle' event, celebrating the dazzle camouflage used by the Royal Navy in the post-war years, and it's links to Malvern. Our songs cover all aspects of society of the period, including popular love songs, songs now commonly sung at football matches, and some of the new jazz and Blues songs that came over from America after WW1.
We are a very 'tongue in cheek' outfit and there is always fun and laughter at our rehearsals. Our choir currently has roughly equal numbers of men and women in attendance but we are always on the lookout for new recruits.
We meet fortnightly on Tuesday evenings - 7.30-9.00 pm, at the Amaka unit on the Spring Lane Industrial Estate in Malvern. You would be warmly welcomed. If you want to come along, please contact Sue on contact details provided.
