Colour Unleashed

05 June 2021

Exhibition opening times: 5th & 6th June and 11th-13th June, 11.00am-5.00pm

at Elmslie House, Great Malvern WR14 3AG

Colour Unleashed is an exhibition that brings together the work of three Worcester-based artists: Susan Birth, Cherrie Mansfield and Caroline Hall, who are united in their love of vibrant colour and acrylic paint.

The three artists each have their own distinctive style and their work will combine to create an exhibition rich in colour, pattern and texture. Drawing on inspiration such as landscapes and urban streets, Susan, Cherrie and Caroline hope to evoke thoughts and memories, as well as fire the imagination.

Caroline's vibrant landscapes are highly collectible. She has completed many large-scale commissions and her work-also features on silk scarves and Herefordshire-brewed ale.

Cherrie's expressive artwork is characterised by mesmerising contours of colour and undulating textures. She has recently completed an elephant sculpture for Worcester's Big Parade this summer.

Susan makes bold use of colour, pattern and texture using a variety of media to create lively, eye-catching art. She is a finalist in this year's Broadway Arts Festival and has created artwork for several charities as well as being one of the organisers for this year’s Worcester Open Studios later this summer.

“Having originally been planned for May last year, we’re thrilled that the exhibition can now take place and Susan, Cherrie and Caroline’s amazing paintings can finally be hung on the walls at Elmslie for everyone to see,” says Anna Taylor, Elmslie House’s owner.

During opening times there is no need to book but in line with current COVID restrictions, the number of people in the hall at any one time will be limited. This will be done using a traffic light entry system that will indicate whether a short wait is needed before entry.

If you are unable to visit the exhibition in person, you can browse the artwork in the show from the comfort of your home in an e-catalogue which will be available online from 4th June at
