Great Malvern Farmers Market
18 July 2020
Great Malvern Farmers’ Market is re-opening in a new location. In the coming months the outdoor market will be held in the grounds of Great Malvern Priory, which offers the space for new social-distancing measures.
‘We are really pleased to be re-opening and grateful for the help offered by the Priory’ says Rebecca Boffy who organises the event. ‘Our markets are a lifeline for the many traders we support as well as their customers. During lockdown there’s been a great deal of interest in sourcing locally-produced food and we are very pleased to give people access to local producers once again.’
Stalls at the re-opened market will be more widely spaced, creating room for social-distancing while waiting to be served. There will be hand-sanitiser available for customers and stewards will be on hand to make sure everybody abides by the new rules.
‘We have undertaken training and are following new guidance from the Farm Retail Association’ continues Rebecca, ‘and the extra hygiene measures will make sure everybody stays safe. We are offering a safe and pleasant way to shop for food in an outdoor location. Together with our traders, we are really looking forward to welcoming our customers back.’
Following the first market on Saturday 20th June, they should continue on the third Saturday of each month in the heart of Great Malvern.
