Ledbury Choral Society : Choral Classics
08 November 2025
Ledbury Choral Society has returned to weekly rehearsals following a summer break and is now busy preparing for two performances.
The first will be a concert of Choral Classics on Saturday 8th November. The programme features popular choral masterpieces such as Bach’s Jesu joy of man’s desiring, Handel’s rousing coronation anthem Zadok the Priest, Mozart’s Ave verum corpus, Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine, and a deeply moving setting of a German text Geistliches Leid by Brahms.
The performance at St Michael and All Angels Church in Ledbury begins at 7.30pm and promises to be a wonderful showcase of some of the finest repertoire composed for choir and organ.
The second concert is the choir’s popular Christmas celebration on Saturday 13th December, which features traditional carols and readings. Starting at 6pm, the hour-long performance includes seasonal refreshments served before the concert. At both concerts, the choir will be accompanied on the organ by Simon Peberdy and conducted by Simon Harper.
