Malvern Garden Club welcomes Marion Stainton on 24th April for a talk titled ‘For the Love of Blue Poppies’. Marion, a horticultural consultant and writer, will describe the historical introduction of many very familiar plants and tell more about the collectors and the influence they have had on garden styles. She will also discuss why many plants from the Himalayas have been so popular and why it was a very popular place for plant hunters to go, despite the difficulties they encountered.
On 22nd May the club welcomes Rowan Griffith who has been a gardener at Hergest Croft Gardens for 15 years who will give a talk on Magnolias. Rowan is a member of the RHS Rhododendron, Camellia and Magnolia group and amongst other duties is recording and labelling the Hergest Croft collection.
Malvern Garden Club meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm in St Matthias Church Hall, Church Road, Malvern Link.
