Malvern Rocks 2024

02 August 2024 to 04 August 2024

All available dates: 02 August 2024 to 04 August 2024

How are this year’s plans shaping up?

At the moment we have 12 venues that will be hosting music, including one or two new ones that include Dirty D’s Doughnuts and Coffee on Church Walk. It’s likely to be a tight squeeze but memorable!

We will have ‘Malvern Rocks Priory Park’ on the afternoon of 3rd August, in conjunction with Severn Arts who will be running several arts workshops. We will also have a second stand for youth bands and spoken word, a bar, food stalls and various other pitches.  We have a few available if anyone wants to take part.

This year will have a similar format to last year’s Malvern Rocks, with the music starting on the evening of Friday 2nd August, and continuing until the end of Sunday 4th August.

Our aim remains to provide free events while also paying the performers. How do we manage that? We rely on income from donations, there is also some funding from the District Council and Severn Arts. We also sell merchandise at performances.

Who will be performing this year?

The line-up will be reasonably local and last year included mostly local performers, alongside one band from Bristol and Cantaloop from Birmingham.

Despite the name, we are not purely a rock festival! All kinds of musical genre is represented, that has included a 10-piece funk band, jazz, gipsy jazz, punk and new wave. You name it and we are likely to have it. As well as larger groups, there are also plenty of solo and duo acts.

We are very proud to keep a musical tradition in a town that is known for its contribution to music. I love walking down Church Street when the festival is on, knowing that whichever venue you drop into, you will be able to hear live music.
