Malvern Theatres Relaxed Screenings

Relaxed Screenings are specifically designed for people who find regular performance settings challenging, including (but not limited to) those with Dementia, Autism spectrum conditions, people with learning difficulties and those with sensory or communications difficulties.

Teresa Price, carer at Davenham Residential Care Home, said: “You can see what it means to the residents to have a day out. It’s a chance to meet new people and to feel part of the world. For some of them it’s the only time they leave the home.”

Susan Tomkins, resident at Bradbury Court, said: “This is wonderful: it’s the first time I’ve been to the cinema in 50 years. The last film I saw at the cinema was Cliff Richard in Summer Holiday. It’s lovely to get out and see something. We liked it so much we’re coming back to go to the pantomime as well. It’ll be my first time in a theatre.”
