Putley Open Gardens 2025

20 September 2025

Putley Village Open Gardens is a chance to visit a variety of gardens, large and small, some cottage style and others more formal, all in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside of Putley.

Taking place on Saturday 20th September, there are several new gardens to visit this year that were not previously open to visitors. There are ponds, sculpture, topiary, wild flowers and wonderful views across to the Malverns and the Cotswolds, all with the garden owners on hand to help with your enjoyment.

Each of the gardens open has nearby parking, as it’s a good walk of approximately 2.5 miles around the village to visit everywhere. Footpaths around Putley will be clearly marked, as it’s a great opportunity to enjoy Putley’s lovely countryside, but making use of the nearby parking will allow you more time to appreciate the gardens. Alternatively, gardens can be visited by bicycle.

There’s also plenty of refreshments including bacon butties, light lunches and tea and cake served in Putley Parish Hall, along with the occasional beverage available in some of the gardens. The gardens and the Parish Hall will be open from 10am to 5pm, with entry at £5 per person.

Tickets and maps can be obtained on the day at Putley Parish Hall (HR8 2QN) where you’ll find plenty of parking, produce sales and toilets. Money raised will go towards the upkeep of the Parish Hall, which is home to Putley’s Pop Up Pub and many other community events, as well as the local church which will also be open and is well worth a visit.

Dogs, with the exception of Guide Dogs, are not allowed in the gardens or Parish Hall.
