The Great Waddle of Worcester

23 July 2024 to 15 September 2024

All available dates: 23 July 2024 to 15 September 2024

A trail of brightly decorated penguins comes to Worcester City Centre this July! The Great Waddle of Worcester raises money for St. Richard’s Hospice and will bring colour and fun to the city.
Local organisations and businesses are sponsoring forty large fibreglass penguin sculptures that will form an interactive art trail around the city centre. Further penguin chick sculptures will be covered in artwork by students and community groups.

The trail begins on Monday 22nd July and runs for eight weeks until Sunday 15th September. Once the trail has finished, the large sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for the hospice’s care to patients and their loved ones across the county.

– a Wild in Art event brought to the city by St Richard’s.
The Great Waddle of Worcester is a Wild in Art event, brought to the city by St. Richard’s Hospice. It’s the third art trail in Worcester and follows Worcester Stands Tall and Worcester’s Big Parade, which saw giraffe and elephant sculptures displayed in 2018 and 2021 that raised more than £700,000 combined.
Sara Matthews, Business Development Manager for St Richard’s Hospice, said: ‘All 80 penguins are being painted ready for the big reveal on 22 July.  This might be our third art trail but the artwork gets better and better each time.  We can’t wait for Worcester to waddle with us!’
