West Malvern Garden & Nature Club Meeting
19 March 2024
Regents Theological College, West Malvern Road, West Malvern, Worcs, WR14 4DF. This is just next door to West Malvern St James Church
West Malvern Garden and Nature Club has a new home! The popular local group, that’s more than three decades old, began 2024 by moving its meetings to the Hereford Suite at the Elim Centre in West Malvern.
With a mix of talks and events, this popular local club holds its meetings every month, with a variety of guest speakers.
Coming up on Tuesday 13th February, Helen Mugridge gives a talk titled Wildlife on my doorstep, while on Tuesday 19th March the Annual General Meeting is followed with a talk by Johnny Birks.
In April, Wildlife and Conservation in Borneo is the title of the talk delivered by John Medlock.
The club organises other events including an annual Treasure Trail and picnic which is very popular. They occasionally hold open garden events, when a member invites the rest of the group to visit their garden. Some members take part in the National Garden Scheme and open their gardens to help raise money for charity. See ngs.org.uk for up-to-date listings of local gardens that are open once spring arrives.
The club’s annual show takes place in August and its categories include Fruit, Vegetables, Flowers, Cookery, Arts and Crafts and Photography. There are categories for young people and there’s usually a children’s challenge as well. Refreshments and produce are on sale and non-members are very welcome to take part.
If you’d like to find out more about the club and what membership includes, you can read more on the website and you are welcome along to one of the meetings. Annual membership is only £5.
